Virginia Datathon
Thursday, May 21, 2020
In collaboration with The Library of Virginia, The Office of Data Governance and Analytics is gearing up for the next Virginia Datathon on October 1-2, 2020. The Virginia Datathon brings together state agencies, students, non-profits and the private sector to leverage technology and data to develop innovative ideas that advance the Commonwealth of Virginia. The event promotes participants and teams to interpret, analyze and transform data into real-life solutions and this year we're calling for themes to hear what challenges you want to solve! Themes can cover a wide variety of topics but should be focused on challenges or opportunities within Virginia, however, they could be universal as well. Datasets from the Commonwealth of Virginia will be provided to participating teams and data from other public-facing sources can be leveraged as well.
The Office of Data Governance and Analytics and The Library of Virginia look forward to reading all the proposed themes and announcing the chosen theme in the coming months. When the Commonwealth of Virginia and the community come together, innovative and impactful work can be done. Don't forget to submit your theme ideas by June 20, 2020.
